Reflection:

The ability to plan for a unit of study is very crucial to the success of a teacher. There are many aspects of planning which help to determine the effectiveness of a teacher. These include: Classroom Management, Time Management, Organization, Detailed Procedure, and Link to Learning Standards. All of these aspects should be present in a unit of instruction in order to ensure that the efforts of the teacher and students are completely rewarding to the fullest extent. One such project which I encountered as a graduate student at SUNY Oswego was my Curriculum Development final project. In this project we were to look at a current curriculum, evaluate it for its merits and deficiencies, and then revise it to infuse multicultural education and social justice. We had to determine cost, length of time to implement the new curriculum, and align our revised curriculum to the New York State Learning Standards.
