Reflection:

Assessment is one of the more difficult standards for a pre-service teacher to analyze. I have a plan in place for my first classroom to help me keep my assessments in order. Each student will have a folder with multiple dividers in it. The sections which I anticipate I will need for easy reference during parent teacher conferences and meetings with fellow teachers and administrators are as follows:

A Red File: This file contains samples of students work in a

progression from the beginning of the year to

the end. Flagged will be exceptional work as well

                                 as, examples which need improvement.

A Blue File: This file will contain any disciplinary actions

                                  required for the particular student.

A Yellow File: This file will be a way of documenting

                                     attendance and participation.

A Green File: This file will contain assessments and grading

                                    for the student.

Evidence:

Assessment is an area for which I stand to make the greatest gains as a new teacher. However, I have performed running records on students to determine needs for student intervention as it pertains to English Language Arts (ELA). I have attached a document which exemplifies a running record as well as my assessment of the student and course of action for improvement in oral reading.
